The Swedish parish in the village of Sel\u00e5nger<\/strong> suspects the nuns from the St. Elisabeth Monastery of cheating, reports Reform.by. The article entitled \u201cRussian spy nuns deceived the parish in Sel\u00e5nger<\/strong> in Sweden\u201d was prepared by<\/a> the newspaper Sundsvalls Tidning and published<\/a> in the public domain by Expressen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to the authors of the material, the nuns have been visiting Selanger for several years.\u00a0This time, the parish offered them a table where they sold items to raise money for “lonely, sick, and orphaned children”.\u00a0The nuns came from southern Sweden and were on their way to Norrbotten.\u00a0However, on Wednesday, the parish received new information about visitors: there is a suspicion that the charity is completely going to war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wish we could cancel this\u201d, Helena Westerlind, the deaconess of the parish in Sel\u00e5nger, who received the nuns, told the newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the press secretary of the People’s Embassy of Belarus in Sweden, Dmitry Wasserman, the monastery and the nuns operate under a \u201cfalse flag\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPart of the money may go to poor children, but this is an activity aimed at preparing children to become soldiers of Russian nationalists,\u201d he said in a commentary to the newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Helena Westerlind, she was shocked by this news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe can only apologize for what happened. We absolutely do not want to be associated with supporting Russia,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recall that on January 7, 2023, Alexander Lukashenko\u00a0praised\u00a0the St. Elisabeth Monastery, which he visits on Christmas, for collecting assistance for the Russian military in Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It became known in November 2022 that help was being collected for the Russian military in the St. Elisabeth Monastery, and letters were being written to them with the text \u201cDear Soldier from Belarus\u201d. The project \u201cHelp to Brothers\u201d was opened in the monastery, and a volunteer group was created in August 2022 \u201cwith the initiative and blessing of the spiritual father of the monastery, Archpriest Andrei Lemeshonok.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
